Schmid Takes First at The Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – After firing a 68 in the final round, Indiana women's golf junior Priscilla Schmid earned the title of individual champion at The Landfall Tradition, ending the event 7-under-par. It marked the first first-place finish of Schmid's career.

• Schmid's three-round score of 209 matches her career best, which she set in the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, an event in which she finished tied for second. Schmid is the first Hoosier to win an individual title since Mary Parsons took home first place at the Lady Boilermaker Classic in April.
• Schmid parred or birdied every hole on Sunday except one to finish two strokes better than the rest of the field. She collected five total birdies in the round, including three on the back nine to make up for her lone bogey on the day. Her 13 total birdies in the event was tied for the most in the field.
• Junior Mary Parsons turned in a 75 to end the tournament tied for 39th place. Parsons had a pair of birdies – on holes No. 5 and 14.
• Freshman Anni Eisenhut had the best round of her tournament on Sunday, carding a 2-over-par 74 as she also tied for 39th place. Eisenhut was tied for the third-most pars in the event with 40 total.
• Fellow freshman Valerie Clancy finished tied for 60th after carding a 78 on Sunday.
• Sophomore Alexis Miestowski tied for 88th and shot a 79 in the final round.
