Indiana Debuts 2019-20 Team at Hoosier Hysteria Presented by Smithville

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's basketball celebrated the start to the 2019-20 season with Saturday's Hoosier Hysteria presented by Smithville at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Head coach Archie Miller and the team greeted fans, participated in contests and signed autographs.

After introductions, the games got started first with a a 3-point competition, which paired one men's player with one member of the Indiana women's basketball team. The event was won by juniors Al Durham and Jaelynn Penn.

Up next, in his Indiana debut redshirt junior Joey Brunk and women's basketball's Ali Patberg won the skills competition, which included a variety of obstacles up-and-down the court.

In the final competition, freshman Trayce Jackson-Davis won the dunk contest. He celebrated the win by paying tribute to Indiana's all-time leading scorer, Calbert Cheaney, who was in attendance and judging the contest.

The event wrapped up with an eight-minute intrasquad scrimmage. The Hoosiers will return to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Oct. 29 as they play host to Gannon in the lone exhibition game this year. The season officially begins on Tuesday, Nov. 5 when Indiana hosts Western Illinois at 7 p.m.
