
Indiana Set for the Marquette Intercollegiate

Erin, Wis. – Indiana Men's Golf head to Wisconsin this week for the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills Golf Course. The first round of the three-day, 54-hole event will tee off Sunday at 10 a.m. ET. The teams will play 18-holes each day with the final round teeing off Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. ET.

The Marquette Intercollegiate is in its seventh year of competition with 2019 marking the first time Indiana has participated in the event. Erin Hills Golf Course was home to the 2017 U.S. Open which saw Brooks Koepka claim the title. In addition, the course also hosted the 2011 U.S. Amateur.
This year's field include 12 teams, including Liberty who is ranked No. 21 in this week's Golfweek College Rankings.

• Indiana's team lineup this week is the same group that has competed in the first two tournaments of the season. Altogether, the five in the team lineup have combined for 287 career rounds.
• Sophomore Mitch Davis has led the Hoosiers in scoring thus far, averaging a 74.00. He tied for 16th at the Windon Memorial event Sept. 16-17. Davis had an impressive debut for Indiana last season, averaging a 73.27 which is the second-best ever average for an Indiana freshman.
• Senior Brock Ochsenreiter is the most experienced of the group as he has played 99 career rounds, averaging a 73.59. He led the Hoosiers last year with a 72.56 average as he finished in the top=10 three times, highlighted by a second-place finish in the Steelwood Collegiate in October.
• Junior Ethan Shepherd has posted a 74.83 average this season, including shooting a 70 in the first round of the prestigious Olympia Fields event last time out.
• Sophomore Harry Reynolds had his best round of his career earlier this season as he shot a 69 in day three at Windon Memorial to finish tied for 30th. He averaged a 74.57 in 2018-19, the 11th best ever for an IU freshman. His best finish came at the Chatham Hills Collegiate at 18th.
• Jack Sparrow was granted a sixth year of eligibility after missing the majority of last season with an injury. For his career, Sparrow has played in 68 rounds.
• The Marquette Intercollegiate will mark the debut for freshman Drew Giacchetto, who is competing as an individual. Giacchetto is a native of Canton, Mass. and has a pair of top-10 finishes in the AJGA circuit to his credit, as well as a 2017 Kingman Cup individual title and a pair of team Kingman Cup championships.

Indiana earned a top-10 finish at the first event of the year at Windon Memorial, highlighted by a top-20 outing from sophomore Mitch Davis, who tied for 16th. Davis led the field in par-3 scoring and bogeyed just one hole on the final day. Harry Reynolds (T30) and Jack Sparrow (T35) each carded a round of 69 in the event.
Tournament No. 2 Recap – Olympia Fields
Last time out, the Hoosiers competed in the prestigious Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational amongst the nation's best Sept. 20-22. Ochsenreiter led the Indiana lineup as he moved up four spots on the final day to finish tied for 54th.
