Meet the Hoosiers: Greg Hagan

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– Over the course of the 2019-20 wrestling season we will feature newcomers on the team with this Meet the Hoosiers series. This week, Greg Hagan, a freshman from Des Moines, Iowa, answered some questions.
The Hoosiers open the dual match season at home Nov. 22 vs. North Dakota State.
Why did you choose to wrestle at Indiana?
I choose to wrestle at Indiana because I loved the coaching staff and I really like the family mentality that both the team and coaches show.
What are you most excited about to begin your Hoosier wrestling career?
I'm excited to work with the coaches to maximize my wrestling ability and become the best wrestler I can be.
When did you first start wrestling?
I first started wrestling when I was in second grade.
What is your favorite wrestling memory?
My favorite memory was winning a folkstyle national title.
What are you majoring in at Indiana and why?
I'm majoring in sports marketing because I love sports and want to use my skills to help other athletes like myself.
What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal is Sushi.
What is your favorite TV show?
My favorite TV show is The Sopranos.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Goodfellas
What is your favorite sport other than wrestling?
My favorite sport other than wrestling is football.
Who is your sports hero?
My sports hero is Ray Lewis.
Hagan, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, went to Dowling Catholic High School. He finished his high school career with a 115-23 overall record. He finished in second-place at the Iowa High School State Championships and was a USAW Jr. National Champion. He also earned All-State honors in football. His high school coach, Kevin Stanley was a 2001 NCAA All-American at Indiana.
