NOTES: Hoosiers Take On Buckeyes At Big Ten Tournament

OPENING TIP
Indiana University is in its 119th season of competition in men's basketball. IU has won its last four games including an 89-73 win over Rutgers on Senior Day, last Sunday. Ohio State is in the midst of a three-game slide, falling 73-67 in overtime at home against Wisconsin. The Buckeyes won the first meeting between the two teams, 55-52, on February 20 in Bloomington. OSU has a three-game winning streak in the series dating back to last year. The winner will play #1 seed Michigan State at 12:30 p.m., Friday.

THE BIG TEN TOURNAMENT
IU is 12-21 in this event and will be a #9 seed for the first time. IU lost to Rutgers, 76-69, a year ago in its only game in Madison Square Garden. No current IU player has ever played in the event in Chicago. On their last visit to the United Center in the Big Ten Tournament, IU beat Northwestern before falling to Maryland in 2015.
THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his 2nd season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He has a 33-29 record since taking over the Hoosiers. He is 172-92 in 7-plus years as a head coach, which includes 6 years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Chris Holtmann is in his 2nd year at Ohio State.

Senior forward Juwan Morgan was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week. It was the third time he has won the award. Morgan a 6-8 forward from Waynesville, Missouri, averaged 22.5 points and 8.0 rebounds and shot 74.1% against Illinois and Rutgers. Against Illinois, he had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead IU to a 92-74 win on the road. Facing the Scarlet Knights on an emotional Senior Day, he made his first 10 field goal attempts and finished with 25 points and seven rebounds. This year, Morgan ranks ninth the in the Big Ten in scoring (15.1), fifth in rebounds (8.4), sixth in field goal percentage (55.3), seventh in blocked shots (1.5) and 11th in steals (1.2). He was named third team All-Big Ten by the media and honorable mention by the coaches. He converted a game-winning and-1 with 1:46 to go against MSU and is averaging 10.0 boards and in the last 8 games.
Senior Zach McRoberts earned the Big Ten's Sportsmanship Award. The walk-on came to IU after playing his first season at Vermont.
