Hoosiers Fall at Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS – The Indiana women's tennis team won the doubles point, but could not continue the momentum as they dropped a 4-3 match against Minnesota on Friday.
Minnesota won the first doubles match at No. 3, but the Hoosiers evened things with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Madison Appel and Jelly Bozovic battled back from starting down 2-0 and 5-2 to win 7-5 to secure the doubles point for the Hoosiers.
Minnesota (10-6, 2-1) won first sets in five of the six singles matches to gain momentum in the match. The Golden Gophers won four straight singles matches to clinch the overall match.
For Indiana (11-7, 1-2) Madison Appel added a point with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles. Jelly Bozovic added another point with her 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles.
Up next the Hoosiers continue Big Ten play at home against Michigan State on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. ET.
