Indiana University concludes its 119th season of competition in men's basketball with its sixth berth to the postseason National Invitation Tournament, which was established in 1938. The Hoosiers are a #1 seed and will take on #6 seed Wichita State who is coming off a 63-55 win at #2 Clemson and won at #3 Furman, 76-70. IU defeated #4 Arkansas, 63-60, and #8 St. Francis, 89-72.

THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his second season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He has a 35-30 record since taking over the Hoosiers. He is 174-93 in 7-plus years as a head coach, which includes 6 years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Gregg Marshall is in his 12th year of coaching the Shockers. They won the 2011 NIT. Marshall's WSU squad beat Miller's Dayton team, 64-58, in Indianapolis in the NCAA Tournament in what was Miller's final game with the Flyers.
NEWS & NOTES
This will be the third meeting between the two teams. IU beat WSU 75-54 in Indianapolis in 1989, while the Shockers beat IU in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament, 81-76, in Omaha. This will be just the second time IU has faced a team from the American Athletic Conference (AAC), IU beat South Florida last year, 70-53, in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
The Hoosiers began the year winning 12 of 14 games, including triumphs over Marquette and Louisville. IU then lost 12 of its next 13, with the lone win coming at Michigan State. Indiana concluded the regular season by winning its last four games, including games against Wisconsin and Michigan State.
