BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana baseball (15-9) dropped a tough 9-8 decision in extra innings to the Kent State Golden Flashes on Wednesday night.

KEY MOMENTS
• In the top of the second inning, Indiana committed three errors that resulted in four earned runs for the Golden Flashes.
• The Hoosiers responded in the bottom half of the inning with two runs. Sophomore Cole Barr led off with a solo home run. Then, after freshman Grant Richardson walked and freshman Tyler Van Pelt singled, senior Wyatt Cross grounded into a double play to make it a 4-2 game.
• Indiana used a two-run fourth to tie the game up at four. With runners on first and second with two outs, junior Jeremy Houston's ground ball was fielded and errantly thrown to first to plate two runs.
• After the Golden Flashes plated a run in the top of the seventh and eighth to take a two-run lead, senior Matt Lloyd and sophomore Elijah Dunham hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game up at six.
• Kent State loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the 11^th and got an RBI single and a HBP to plate a pair of runs.
• Junior Scotty Bradley led off the bottom of the 11^th with a double to the gap. Then with one out, senior Cross sent a 441-foot home run to center to knot the game up at eight.
• Kent State worked three walks in the top of the 12^th to get the go-ahead run.
• The Hoosiers left the tying run at second and the winning run at first in the bottom of the 12^th.

NOTES
• Dunham finished the game going 2-for-4 with the home run, a walk and a HBP. It marked his third-straight double-digit hit game.
• Van Pelt tallied his third career multi-hit game, as he went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
• Freshman right hander Gabe Bierman was strong out of the bullpen as he allowed just one base runner via a walk to go along with five strikeouts in three innings of relief.
• The back-to-back home runs for Lloyd and Dunham was the first back-to-back home run sequence for the Hoosiers since May 12, 2018 at Nebraska when Luke Miller and Scotty Bradley hit back-to-back jacks.
