COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Indiana baseball (15-10, 3-1) garnered just two hits in a 2-0 loss to Maryland on Friday night at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers got close in the top of the third. Freshman Grant Richardson clubbed a ball to right where he was robbed of a solo home run by Maryland's Randy Bednar. Junior Scotty Bradley followed with a hard-hit line drive that would have found the left center gap but was snagged on a leap by shortstop AJ Lee.
• Maryland's Chris Alleyne led off the bottom of the fourth with a triple to the right center gap and scored on a sac bunt RBI by Taylor Wright to give the Terps a 1-0 lead.
• The Terps tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Caleb Walls to make it a two-run lead.
• Senior Ryan Fineman led off the seventh with a double to the gap, but failed to score after a pop out and a pair of ground outs.
• Senior Matt Lloyd worked a leadoff walk in the ninth, but the Hoosiers were unable to get a runner past first base in the final frame.
NOTES
