Offense Explodes Again in 19-4 Victory over Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Indiana (17-10, 5-1) used another strong offensive output and strong pitching from junior Andrew Saalfrank on Sunday to pick up a 19-4 victory over Maryland to win the series.
KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Elijah Dunham got the scoring started in the top of the first with an RBI single up the middle. Sophomore Cole Barr followed with sac fly to give the Hoosiers a 2-0 lead.
• Maryland's A.J. Lee led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run to cut the IU lead to 2-1.
• With runners on first and second with two outs in the top of the second, sophomore Drew Ashley knocked out a three-run home run to put the Hoosiers up by four. Senior Matt Lloyd stepped up next and hit out a solo shot to make it a 6-1 game.
• The bases went loaded in the top of the third for Indiana. Ashley worked a walk and then Lloyd cleared the bases with a double to make it 10-1 in favor of IU.
• After the Terps got a run in the third, IU used a five-run fifth to take a 15-2 lead. A fielder's choice RBI and another run plated on an error eventually led to a three-run home run from junior Scotty Bradley.
• The Hoosiers tacked on their final four runs in the eighth, thanks in part to Lloyd's second home run of the game, a three-run shot.
NOTES
• Saalfrank struck out 11 hitters in six innings, his second double-digit strikeout game this season. He allowed five hits and two earned runs with three walks, as he improved to 2-1 on the season.
• For the second consecutive game, Lloyd tallied three extra-base hits, going 3-for-5 with a career-high seven RBI and three runs. It was his second consecutive multi-home run game. He now has nine home runs on the season and 29 for his career.
• Bradley set a career-high in hits with four, as he went 4-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored.
