
Hoosiers Host Wright State in Midweek Reunion on Wednesday

• Indiana begins a stretch of 9 of its next 10 games at home beginning with the Wright State Raiders on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
• Wednesday will be the 25th ever meeting between IU and Wright State. The two squads last met on March 27, 2004, an 8-1 victory for the Hoosiers.
• Indiana leads the all-time series between the two schools, 17-7.
• Indiana Head Coach Jeff Mercer is in his first season with the Hoosiers and his 10th overall year in coaching collegiately. He has posted an 94-58 career record after leading Wright State to winning seasons in each of his two years with the Raiders, including a 2018 Horizon League title and NCAA Regional appearance.
• Wright State Head Coach Alex Sogard is in his first season as head coach with the Raiders. He was a two-year assistant under Mercer at Wright State, where he was on the staff that won the 2018 Horizon League regular-season and tournament titles and a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
• Indiana is coming off a successful weekend in which it took two of three games from the Maryland Terrapins to improve to 5-1 in Big Ten play.
• The Hoosiers, who outscored the Terrapins 39-11 this past weekend, have outscored their Big Ten oppoenents, 62-15, and have won 10 of their last 12 games in a dating back to March 23.
• Senior Matt Lloyd was named the reigning Big Ten Player of the Week for his performance at Maryland. The senior hit .412 on the week (7-for-17) with five home runs, 11 RBI, two doubles and eight runs scored. He posted a 1.412 slugging percentage and a .545 on base percentage, giving him a 1.957 OPS
• Lloyd, who has reach base in 21-straight games, went 3-for-5 with two home runs, seven RBI (career-high) a double and three runs scored in Sunday's win..The previous day on Saturday in the win, was 3-for-4 with three RBI, two home runs, a double and four runs scored.
• Freshman Grant Richardson earned his second-straight Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after he .316 on the week with three home runs, six RBI and six runs scored.
• In Saturday's win over Maryland, Richardson set new career-highs in hits (5), home runs (3), RBI (6) and runs (4). The three home runs are a freshman record at Indiana.
• He is the first Hoosier to get three home runs in a game since Logan Sowers had three vs. Ohio on June 3, 2017 in the Lexington, Ky. NCAA Regional. He now has four, three-plus hit games just 13 games into his freshman campaign.
• This marks the fifth straight week a Hoosier has won a Big Ten weekly award.
• Indiana leads the nation in home runs (52) and is first in the Big Ten in slugging percentage (.493, 9th nationally) and runs (203, 24th).
• The Hoosier pitching staff is second in the Big Ten in ERA (3.25, 28th nationally), and is third in WHIP (1.26, 34th) and walks per nine innings.
