BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Big Ten Tournament play opens up on Thursday night for the Indiana Hoosiers who face Minnesota in the second round at 6:30 p.m. ET at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN GOPHERS
Minnesota defeated Michigan State in the regular season finale to claim the No. 7 seed at the Big Ten Tournament on Sunday. They are led by senior guard Kenisha Bell (18.9 ppg., 4.2 apg.) and sophomore guard/forward Destiny Pitts (15.7 ppg.). The Gophers average 69.3 points per game and grab 41.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 41.9 percent from the floor.

- Indiana is 17-25 overall in the tournament's 25 year history. The Hoosiers have been a 10 seed three times, the last time in 2014. IU is 0-3 all-time as the No. 10 seed and 2-0 all-time against Minnesota in the Big Ten Tournament. The two teams last meet in 2006 when No. 6 seed Indiana defeated No. 3 seed Minnesota, 61-46.
- The Hoosiers are playing in the 7/10 game for the second-straight season, having been the No. 7 seed last season when IU defeated No. 10 seed Michigan State, 111-109 in four overtimes.
- A win over Purdue in the regular season finale, 73-51, on Sunday afternoon helped the Hoosiers earn the 10 seed. Four Hoosiers scored in double figures behind redshirt junior guard Ali Patberg's 18 points.
- A trio of Hoosiers earned All-Big Ten honors that were announced by the league on Monday. Patberg was an All-Big Ten second team selection (coaches and media), sophomore guard Jaelynn Penn was a second team (coaches) and honorable mention (media) while redshirt junior forward Brenna Wise (media) was an honorable mention selection.
- Patberg is the Hoosiers' leading scorer averaging 15.5 points per game and 4.9 assists per game. Two others add double figure averages in Penn (14.0 ppg.) and Wise (12.1 ppg., 7.0 rpg.).
- With a win on Thursday, the Hoosiers will reach 20 wins for a program-record time fourth season. Indiana has never gone four straight seasons in its 47 year history with four-straight 20 win seasons.
