Men Finish 18th; Four Earn All-America Honors on the Final Day of NCAA Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— Indiana Track & Field concluded their stint at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon as the Hoosiers saw four earn All-America honors. Kelsey Harris, Cooper Williams, Eric Bethea, and Kyle Mau return to the Hoosier State as All-Americans.
In the team competition, the Indiana men placed 18th overall with 11 points. They had the second best Big Ten finish behind Wisconsin who placed fourth. On the women's side, the Hoosiers placed 35th.
Kelsey Harris earned First Team All-America honors in the women's 800m after clocking a time of 2:06.99 to place seventh. Cooper Williams continued to defy the odds as he also became a First Team All-American, turning in a time of 1:47.69 to finish fifth overall.
Kyle Mau was featured in two events where he captured two Second Team All-American honors in the mile and the 3000m. In the mile the redshirt junior clocked a time of 4:10.72 for a top-10 finish. Returning two hours later in a gritty 3000m, Mau placed ninth clocking a time of 7:58.25.
Eric Bethea became a second-team All-American on Saturday afternoon as be jumped a distance of 15.71m (51-6½ ) to place 11th overall.
In the women's weight throw, Princess Brinkley saw the opportunity to compete on the nation's biggest stage.
The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships concluded the indoor season for the Hoosiers as they will now look to the 2019 outdoor track & field season. Indiana will see their first meet in Tempe, Arizona at the Sun Devil Invite on Mar. 22 & 23.
