Indiana Beats Nebraska, 5-2

Bloomington, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team (11-9, 5-3 B1G) defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers (9-14, 1-7 B1G), 5-2, on Saturday afternoon outside on the IU Varsity Courts.
The Hoosiers earned the doubles point and singles wins at the No. 1, 2, 4 and No. 6 positions.
In doubles, Zac Brodney and Bennett Crane kicked things off with a convincing 6-2 win at No. 2. The No. 39 ranked pair of Carson Haskins and Brandon Lam prevailed at No. 1, 7-5, against the No. 90 ranked duo to lock up the doubles point for IU.
Vikash Singh rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 singles win on No. 6 to put the Hoosiers up 2-0 on the scoreboard. Singh improved to 9-4 in his freshman campaign.
To begin his final weekend at home, No. 80 ranked Antonio Cembellin defeated the No. 114 ranked player from Nebraska, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1. The win gave IU a 3-0 lead and Cembellin's 11thwin on the season, all at the No. 1 spot.
The Cornhuskers went on to win the next two matches, at No. 3 and No. 5, to cut the IU lead to 3-2. The two remaining matches would be played out in a third set after Bennett Crane won 6-2 in the second frame and Brodney fell in the second set to his opponent, 6-4.
Indiana picked up those third sets and match wins to finish off the 5-2 victory.
Up next, the Hoosiers will close out their home schedule when they host Iowa and Saint Louis, tomorrow, April 14 at 12 & 5 PM. In between the two matches, senior Antonio Cembellin will be recognized for his contributions to the program.
