"I am happy with results yesterday. Although we still have room for improvement, there were some very distinct positive changes from our results two weeks ago in Michigan. The conditions were very challenging for all crews with strong winds and choppy water, but our athletes seemed to take them in stride and focused on what they needed to do to perform. The Varsity 8 has a lot of potential and we are seeing small improvements every week in practice. It was great to see them carry those changes over into their racing this weekend. They know they have to continue to improve and get faster in what will arguably the tightest field in Varsity 8 Big Ten conference history. The Novice 8 continues to win races convincingly. They are a small but scrappy group that really makes the future of IU Rowing look bright. Coach Katie Bitz has really taken the novice program to a new level this year and I am excited to see all of these athletes move up to the varsity crews in the future."
