No. 49 IU Falls to No. 34 Penn State, 4-1

University Park, Pa. – The No. 49 ranked Indiana men's tennis team (13-10, 6-4 B1G) was defeated by the No. 34 ranked Penn State Nittany Lions (17-7, 7-3 B1G), 4-1, on Friday evening inside the Penn State Tennis Center.
Penn State won the doubles point and then pressed on to win the first two singles matches, at No. 1 and No. 2, to take a 3-0 lead. The top singles player for the Nittany Lions is ranked No. 25.
The Hoosiers grabbed their lone point on the scoreboard when Zac Brodney rolled to a 6-4, 6-2 win on No. 3. Brodney won his 11thdual match of the spring and is 6-1 against Big Ten foes.
On the No. 4 court, Carson Haskins rebounded from a first set defeat to push his match to a third set. In the final set, Haskins' opponent won 6-3 and clinched the match for PSU.
Two matches were left unfinished, No. 5 and No. 6. At No. 5, Andrew Redding was leading his opponent, 6-3, 2-0. On No. 6, Vikash Singh was tied 5-5 in the first set.
Up next, Indiana will finish the regular season on Sunday, April 21 against the No. 1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. First serve is at Noon.
