No. 49 Hoosiers Drop Match to No. 1 Ohio State, 7-0

Columbus, Ohio – The No. 49 ranked Indiana men's tennis team (13-11, 6-5 B1G) finished the regular season with a loss to the No. 1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (26-2, 11-0 B1G), 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Outdoor Varsity Tennis Center.
With wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, the Buckeyes got the edge to begin the day with the doubles point win. The Hoosiers lineup featured Antonio Cembellin and Patrick Fletchall at No. 1, Zac Brodney and Andrew Redding at No. 2, and Payam Ahmadi and Carson Haskins at No. 3.
In singles, William Piekarsky moved into the No. 6 spot, his second dual match of the season. The Hoosiers faced three ranked singles players, No. 1 JJ Wolf, No. 23 John McNally, and No. 56 Kyle Seelig.
Carson Haskins, at No. 3, was the lone Hoosier to win the first set as the Buckeyes took the rest.
Ohio State found their first singles win at the top spot, increasing its lead to 2-0. The Buckeyes pulled together wins at the rest of the positions to get the sweep.
Up next, Indiana will begin postseason play with the Big Ten Tournament in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Thursday, April 25 against an opponent to be determined.
