Hoosiers Welcome Minnesota to Bart Kaufman Field

• Twenty-third ranked Indiana returns to Bart Kaufman Field this weekend, hosting the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a three-game series.
• Friday will be the 149th ever meeting between IU and Minnesota. The two squads met in Minneapolis last season, with the Gophers sweeping the series.
• Minnesota leads the all-time series between the two schools, 103-45.
• Indiana Head Coach Jeff Mercer is in his first season with the Hoosiers and his 10th overall year in coaching collegiately. He has posted an 105-61 career record after leading Wright State to winning seasons in each of his two years with the Raiders, including a 2018 Horizon League title and NCAA Regional appearance.
• Minnesota head coach John Anderson is in his 38th season overall as head coach with the Golden Gophers. Anderson holds the record for overall wins and conference wins while coaching at a Big Ten university.
• Indiana is coming off a weekend where it took two of three games from the Michigan State Spartans, and are atop the Big Ten standings heading into this weekend's clash with Minnesota.
• The Hoosiers earned a 9-3 victory over Ball State at Victory Field on Tuesday night. With the win, Indiana completed the regular season sweep against the state of Indiana. The Hoosiers finish 9-0 against those teams (4 vs. Evansville, 2 vs. Ball State, 1 vs. Indiana State, 1 vs. Purdue, 1 vs. Butler).
• IU has jumped into the national polls this week, ranking 23rd by D1Baseball.com, 24th by Perfect Game and Collegiate Baseball, and 25th by Perfect Game.
• The Hoosiers enter the weekend as the nation's leader with 72 home runs and trail the single-season school record by 13 (85 in 2010).
• Adidtionally, Indiana comes into Friday leading the Big Ten in slugging percentage (.484, 10th nationally) and runs (297, 30th), and is third in doubles (80, 40th).
• IU's pitching staff is first in the Big Ten in WHIP (1.20, 15th nationally) and strikeout to walk ratio (2.71, 21st), is second in hits allowed per nine innings (7.27, 11th), ERA (3.35, 17th) and strikeouts per nine innings (9.6, 27th), and is third in shutouts (3, 41st).
• The weekend starting rotation for the Hoosiers consisting of senior Pauly Milto, junior Tanner Gordon and junior Andrew Saalfrank have combined for 171.2 innings, allowing 130 hits, striking out 201, walking just 39 and posting a 2.57 ERA.
• Senior Matt Lloyd and sophomore Cole Barr are tied for the Big Ten lead in home runs (13), while junior Matt Gorski is fourth (10).
• Overall, the Hoosiers have four players that are in the top 10 in the Big Ten in long balls, as freshman Grant Richardson has seven (10th).
