About the Philadelphia Cricket Club – Wissahickon Course
The Philadelphia Cricket Club is the oldest country club in the United States and is the only club in the United States with a different golf course constructed in each of the last three centuries. In 1920, the Club commissioned one of its members, the renowned A.W. Tillinghast, to create a golf course in Flourtown. Now known as Wissahickon, this Tillinghast course shows the work of a design genius at the height of his abilities. The course opened for play in 1922, and in 2013-2014, underwent a complete restoration. In 2018, Wissahickon was ranked 29th on Golf Week's top 100 classic courses in the United States.
'Shepherd'-ing The Hoosiers
Sophomore Ethan Shepherd is second on the team with a 72.93 scoring average through the first 10 tournaments of the 2018-19 campaign. It is approximately three strokes better than his freshman season scoring average (75.83). He also has four Top 25 finishes this season while he had two such finishes in eight tournaments as a freshman. The Greenwood, Ind., native also has the two of the four lowest rounds to par this year for IU, carding a 67 (-5) at the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational to start the year and a 66 (-6) at Chatham Hills.
Brown Has Strong Showing At Genesis Open Collegiate Showcase
Senior Jake Brown was one of 12 collegiate golfers to compete at the Genesis Open Collegiate Showcase at Riviera Country Club, an event held in conjunction with the PGA TOUR's Genesis Open. Brown finished the 18-hole round at 1-under par to tie for third place.

Junior Brock Ochsenreiter, who narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Regionals last year, has finished T25 or better in seven of the 10 tournaments so far this season. His 72.45 scoring average leads the team and slightly better than his 72.97 average last season. He is coming off a final round 65 at the Hawkeye Invitational that gave him a tie for 11th place.
What Can Brown Do?
After opening the year with a T12 finish at the Fuzzy Zoeller Invitational, senior Jake Brown posted finishes of T49 and T62 the next two times out. But he showed once again that he thrives on difficult courses at the Maridoe Intercollegiate, where he carded scores of 77 and 74 in the first two rounds but then rallied to post 69 in the final round and tie for 14th. He followed that up with a T6 finish at Chatham Hills. It was the 13th career Top 15 finish for Brown in 41 events.
Mitch Makes His Pitch
After missing two tournaments due to injury, freshman Mitch Davis returned at the Boilermaker Invitational, competing as an individual, and finished at 3-under par to tie for 12th place. It marked his second Top 12 finish of the season and his second straight Top 25 after a T21 showing at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in March.
