IU Defeats Wisconsin, 5-2

Madison, Wis. – The Indiana men's tennis team (10-8, 4-2 B1G) defeated the Wisconsin Badgers (7-9, 1-5 B1G), 5-2, on Friday afternoon on the outside courts of Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
The Hoosiers won the doubles point and followed with wins at No. 1, 2, 4, and 6 singles.
With wins from Patrick Fletchall/Antonio Cembellin at No. 3 and the No. 43 ranked pair of Brandon Lam/Carson Haskins at No. 1, the Hoosiers took the doubles point.
Bennett Crane put IU up 2-0 when he completed a straight-set win at the No. 2 singles spot. The Hoosiers lead was extended to 3-0 when Zac Brodney also took his match in straight sets for his ninth win of the season.
The Badgers fought back with two straight wins. The first came on the No. 5 court to get them on the scoreboard and another was a straight-set victory on No. 3.
In the end, Indiana withstood the rally from Wisconsin and got wins at the No. 1 and No. 6 spots. At the top spot, Antonio Cembellin improved to 11-3 on the season and won his third straight match. Vikash Singh outlasted his opponent in three sets to win the seventh match of his freshman season.
Up next, the Hoosiers head over to Minnesota on Sunday, April 7 with first serve at 1 PM. The Hoosiers will be back in Bloomington for its final home weekend when they host Nebraska (April 13 – 12PM) and Iowa/Saint Louis (April 14 – 12/5PM).
