No. 25 Indiana Drops Series Finale to No. 19 Michigan in 11 Innings, 6-5

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Indiana (33-18, 14-7) held a 5-4 lead in the seventh inning, but Michigan (37-13, 15-5) rallied to take the series finale from the Hoosiers in 11 innings on Sunday afternoon, 6-5.
The Hoosiers trail the Wolverines by 1.5 games in the Big Ten standings. Indiana hosts Rutgers next weekend, while Michigan travels to Nebraska to close out the regular season.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers got a pair of runs early in the contest on some defensive miscues by Michigan. In the top of the fourth, junior Matt Gorski scored from third on a failed pickoff. Then in the top of the fifth, senior Ryan Fineman scored on a passed ball.
• The Wolverines got on the board and tied it up in the bottom of the fifth. Miles Lewis recorded a two-run double down the right field line to knot the game up at two.
• In the sixth, Ako Thomas put Michigan ahead by two runs with a two-run double down the left field line.
• Gorski knotted the game back up at four in the seventh, as he had a two-run single on a missile that went off the shortstop's glove. Sophomore Cole Barr continued the run scoring with a bases loaded walk to give Indiana a 5-4 lead.
• Michigan tied the game back up with an RBI double by Jack Blomgren in the bottom of the seventh.
• In the bottom of the 11th, Michigan's Jordan Brewer helped plate the winning run by grounding a ball to the middle of the infield. The throw home was not made to get the runner, resulting in a 6-5 Wolverine win.
NOTES
• Junior Andrew Saalfrank scatted four runs on eight hits, while striking out eight and walking three to get the no decision.
• Sophomore Tommy Sommer allowed one run in three innings of relief, striking out three.
• Sophomore Justin Walker extended his hitting streak to six games.

Indiana hosts Louisville on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The game will be nationally televised on ESPNU.
