• The 132-player field registered an average score of 79.93. Exactly half the field shot 80 or worse.
• Sophomore's Mary Parsons and Priscilla Schmid led Indiana with 80 in the opening round and are tied for 67th at 7-over par.
• Parsons finished with three birdies in her round, tied for the most by an IU player on the day, as she posted scores of 40 on both sides.
• Schmid tied Parsons for the team lead with three birdies on the day, including birdies on her first and 18th holes. She was able to generally avoid the larger numbers on the day, recording eight bogeys and one double bogey.
• Seniors Kari Bellville and Erin Harper posted matching 81's in round one to tie for 81st.
• Bellville logged a 43 on the front nine before settling down on the back nine to post 38. She carded birdies on No. 3 and No. 14.
• Harper was just 1-over par through her first eight holes before a double bogey gave her 37 on her outward nine. Coming in, she had three bogeys and one double bogey for 41 on the back nine.
• Freshman Alexis Miestowski is tied for 126th at 16-over par after her 89 in the opening round. She got off to a difficult start, as she was 10-over par after just five holes. She made the turn at 13-over par but played the back nine just 3-over par, including back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16.
