No. 25 Indiana Falls to Kentucky on the Road, 5-2

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Indiana baseball (31-17) dropped a 5-2 decision to the Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday night at Kentucky Proud Park.
KEY MOMENTS
• Kentucky put up a two-spot in the bottom of the first as a pair of baserunners scored on a wild pitch.
• Sophomore Drew Ashley hit an RBI single in the top of the third to score sophomore Justin Walker, cutting the Wildcat lead to 2-1.
• The Wildcats plated two runs in the fifth inning on an RBI single and a throwing error on failed pickoff to take a 4-2 lead.
• With two runners on and one out in the seventh, freshman Jake Skrine just missed a three-run home run, as he doubled off the wall in left to plate a run. The Hoosiers were unable to continue the inning though as they had two-straight strikeouts with runners on second and third.
• Kentucky added an insurance run on an RBI single in the seventh on an RBI single.
NOTES
• Sophomore Tommy Sommer allowed three earned runs in 4.2 innings, striking out seven.
• Sophomore Grant Sloan and freshman Gabe Bierman each tossed 1.1 scoreless frames.
