Hoosiers Embark on Road Trip to the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Track & Field travels to Iowa City, Iowa to compete in the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships. In a competitive league, the Hoosiers will begin competition on Friday, May 10 and wrap up on Sunday May 12. The meet will be hosted by the University of Iowa at the Cretzmeyer Track.
Meet Information
All-session passes are available for the event-- $20 for adults and 10$ for youth under the age of 18. Single session passes can also be purchased-- $10 for general admission and $5 for youth. College students can also purchase single session tickets for $3 with a valid school ID.
Public parking will be available free of charge in the Hawkeye Commuter Parking Lot (Lot 85), with a complementary bus shuttle service to and from the competition facility. Limited public parking will be available in the Softball Parking Lot, west of the competition facility.
Bus Shuttle Times (All times are CT):
- Friday, May 10: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.**
- Saturday, May 11: 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday, May 12: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
**The bus shuttle service will not be available from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday as the buses will be honoring their commitment to the public school district. Please plan accordingly.
The meets will broadcast live FloTrack. Video Coverage will begin at noon on Friday, 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Schedule of Events
This weekend's Big Ten Championships will consist of 23 events—13 track events, 8 field events, a heptathlon, and a decathlon.
Friday's Track Events (men followed by women's)— 400m hurdles (prelims), 200m (prelims), 1500m (prelims), and 10,000m (final).
Friday's Field Events— Hammer (men's & women's), pole vault (men's), and javelin (men's & women's).
Saturday's Track Events (men followed by women's)— 400m (prelims), 100m (prelims), 110m hurdles (prelims), 100m hurdles (prelims), 800m (prelims), and steeplechase (finals)
Saturday's Field Events— Long jump (men's & women's), shot put (men's & women's), high jump (men's), and pole vault (women's).
Sunday's Track Events (men followed by women's) — 4x100 relay, 1500m (final), 110m hurdles (final), 100m hurdles (final), 400m (final), 100m (final), 800m (final), 400m hurdles (final), 200m (final), 5000m (final), and 4x400 relay.
Sunday's Field Events— Triple jump (men's & women's), discus (men's & women's), and high jump.

Last Time Out: Billy Hayes Invite
The Hoosiers hit home turf last Friday as Indiana looked to build off of the already high success going into the post season. Both the men's and women's 800m looked strong in front of the home crowd as they swept the top three spots on the women's side and top four sports in the men's race. Joely PInkston, Kelly Mindak, and Mallory Mulzer all grabbed new PR's on their way to 1-2-3. On the men's side, Daniel Kuhn returned to the top of the podium with a time of 1:48.16 as he led the pack of Hoosiers to the finish line. Anna Watson and Adam Coulon swept the pole vault as they soared to a height of 4.15m and 5.50m, respectively. Over at throws, Maddy Pollard and Khayla Dawson proved their strength as the duo went 2-3 in the shot put and 2-6 in the discus. David Schall had solid performance as he placed third in shot and discus. In the women's triple jump, Leah Moran hit her best mark of the season as she jumped a distance of 12.93m to place first overall.
Last Season at #B1GTF Champs
Katherine Receveur and Willie Morrison both grabbed Big Ten Champion accolades a year ago. Receveur won the 5K with a time of 16:43.07 while Morrison broke the school record with a distance of 20.22m (66' 4.25") to be crowned a Big Ten Champion. Daniel Kuhn also broke a school record in the 800m with a time of 1:46.052 and took home silver. As a team, the men's squad finished in second with 88 points while women finished in fourth with 87 points.
Among the Nation's Best
34 Hoosiers checked in on the NCAA Top-48 East Region performance list this week. The top-48 each individual event and top-24 relays will participate in the NCAA East Regional Prelims where they will compete for a spot in the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas. Daniel Michalski is the lone Hoosier who holds a top spot as he won his first Penn Relays championship in the steeple with a PR time of 8:34.26. Spiking up to No, 4 and No. 5 in the men's 1500m are Kyle Mat and Teddy Browning after their performance this past weekend at the Billy Hayes Invite.
In the Great Lakes
USTFCCCA announced their weekly regional ratings index on Monday May 6. The men's squad moved up a spot to check in at No. 2 while the women remain ranked No. 2. Both teams are holding strong behind Big Ten foe, Ohio State who they will face this weekend at the Big Ten Conference meet.
