INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Rowing team capped off its sixth-straight NCAA Rowing Championships appearance in 12th place at Eagle Creek on Sunday. The Varsity 4 and the Second Varsity 8 posted program bests finishes in their respective races as all three of the Hoosier boats finished higher than their pre-race seeding.

Head Coach Steve Peterson
On the performance at NCAA Championships
"All of our boats did great, they came in and outperformed their seeds which is always the first thing you want to do. The Varsity 4 and Second Varsity 8 finished as program best as well. I think both of them did great. The Four in particular, really in between Big Tens and now, just really came together as kind of an eclectic group of different people and different experiences. For them to come together and race the way they did is really fun to watch."
On the future of Indiana Rowing
"I think the sky is the limit. Obviously, we have to keep working and get stronger and faster. The beauty about this sport is that there are no secrets to it. If you do the work and focus on it then you will go fast. If you look at some of these teams, the girls are a little bit bigger and stronger. These are all things we can work on and control. I think we have a ton of potential in the future and I'm excited about it."
