IUFH Lands Three on Big Ten Preseason Watch List

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— The Big Ten Conference has announced their 2019 Field Hockey Preseason Honors on Tuesday afternoon. Sachi Ananias, Hailey Couch, and Ciara Girouard were all named to the 2019 Preseason Watch List.
Ananias returns for her junior campaign this fall. Last season the goalkeeper saw 692:09 minutes in goal while recording 47 saves. She also named a 2019 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar while also being tabbed to the 2018-19 Academic All-Big Ten list.
Couch will head into her sophomore season as she made her impact known last season. Last fall as she played in all 17 games while starting in 14 of them for the Hoosiers. Couch also recorded an assist and had a personal best five shot attempts against Saint Francis.
Girouard was named captain to start her final season with Indiana as this is the second season she has been named to the watch list. Last season she started all 17 games while tallying two goals and three assists. She was also named to the 2018-19 Academic All-Big Ten list following the 2018 season.
The 2019 campaign will kick off in Louisville, Ky. as the Hoosiers face Louisville on Friday, Aug. 30 at 3 p.m. EST The first home contest is slated for Sunday, Sept. 1 vs. Drexel beginning at 12 p.m. EST
