
Hoosiers Struggle To Find Opportunities in Loss to Fairfield

SAINT LOUIS, Mo.— Indiana Field Hockey finished its trip to Saint Louis on Sunday falling to the Fairfield Stags, 3-0. The Hoosiers went 1-1 on their trip and faced a tough Stag team that won the shot battle 16-4.

- In the 17th minute, junior goalie Sachi Ananias recorded the first save of the game that would have put Fairfield up.
- Fairfield sophomore Luzi Persiehl scored the first goal of the game after a penalty corner in the 26th minute and freshman Madison Hoskins scored another goal in the 28th minute to give Fairfield a 2-0 lead.
- Senior Ciara Girouard and junior Savannah Bucher took the first two Indiana shots in the 29th minute but could not connect.
- In the 45th minute, Fairfield added to their lead on a goal from sophomore Faith Spaziano that was assisted by Paige Lowry.
- Indiana freshman Kennedy Reardon took a shot on goal in the 52nd minute but it was saved by Zoe Rosen.
- With the loss, Indiana falls to 3-3 on the season.
- The Hoosiers are now 0-1 in the all-time series against the Fairfield Stags.
- Ananias recorded seven saves, which her a season total of 31.
- The Hoosiers only took four shots, which is second fewest of the season (Louisville).
