Women’s Golf Set to Compete in East-West Match Play Challenge

MADISON, Wis. – Indiana Women's Golf heads to Wisconsin this week for the East-West Match Play Challenge. The three-day event will tee off on Sunday at 9 a.m.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• Playing in threesomes, the teams will play 36 holes of stroke play on Sunday to determine match play seeding. The low four individuals will determine the team score and seeding for match play. The top four teams will advance to the championship bracket and the other four teams to the consolation bracket. In match play, the first team to three points (one point per each individual win).
• Sunday's stroke play will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. ET Monday will begin at 9 a.m. ET, while Tuesday will start at 8:30 a.m. ET with the teams going off the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
• Indiana last competed in the East-West Match Play Challenge in 2015, when the Hoosiers defeated Michigan in the third-place match. That competition was also held at University Ridge.
Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational Recap
The Hoosiers opened the season Sept. 9-10 at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. As a team, Indiana finished in seventh place. Priscilla Schmid tied for second place, finishing 7-under-par. For her efforts, Schmid earned Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week accolades.
Clancy Makes Impressive Debut
Competing as an individual, freshman Valerie Clancy finished third in last week's Cardinal Classic. The tournament, which was hosted by Ball State, was her career debut.
Returning Experience
Between Schmid, Miestowski, Parsons and Pierre, the group has combined for 212 rounds, in addition to Aung's 41. Parsons is the most experienced of the group with 61 rounds over the last three seasons.
