Hoosiers Play Michigan to a 0-0 Draw On Sunday Afternoon

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – For the first time the season Indiana Women's Soccer played to a tie as they saw 0-0 decision at Michigan on Sunday afternoon.
KEY MOMENTS
• Junior Melanie Forbes recorded the first shot of the match in the second minute but couldn't capitalize as the shot went right of the post. Forbes also saw her first shot on goal in the 38th minute but it was saved by the Michigan goal keeper.
• Indiana earned their second and third chances in the 45th minute. Freshman Avery Lockwood launched a shot bottom center as the Wolverines keeper was there for the save. Alaina Kalin ended the half with a shot that went out top right.
• Senior captain Chandra Davidson opened the second half with a shot that went out right in the 54th minute.
• The Hoosiers would continue to press the Michigan defense as Allison Jorden put up a shot in the 84thminute but it went wide of the post.
• Lockwood and Kalin in overtime both saw chances that were on target but couldn't get them to fall as the goalkeeper was able to save both shots from hitting the back of the net.
NOTABLES
• Indiana is now 4-5-1 overall and 0-2-1 in Big Ten Conference play.
• This is the first time this season that the Hoosiers have ended a match in a tie. This is also the first time that Indiana has gone to overtime during the 2019 campaign.
• Melanie Forbes, Alaina Kalin Avery Lockwood led the Hoosiers in shots with two apiece. Indiana was outshot 22-8 as a team.
• Goalkeeper Bethany Kopel tallied six saves on Sunday afternoon. She now has 215 saves in her career.
