IU Rowing Unveils New Erg Room

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Rowing unveiled its new erg room/office space inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall to the team and staff on Tuesday morning.
The newly renovated space will house all of the Hoosiers indoor training needs and features 60 Concept II and four RP3 rowing machines, a stretching room, a rowing-only athletic training facility, conference room and adjacent coaches' offices. The space brings together all of IU rowing's on-campus facilities into one central location. This new facility, along with the Dale England Rowing Center out at Lake Lemon, and the Performance, Academic and Nutrition Centers in Memorial Stadium provide IU's rowers all of the resources and support they need to succeed both academically and athletically.
Indiana Director of Athletics Fred Glass along with sport administrator Marcy Simpson, members of the coaching staff and varsity and novice teams were on hand as the program got its first look at the facility this morning.
The Hoosiers are fresh off their winter training trip in Tampa, Fla. and begin the 2020 spring racing season on March 14-15 at the Cardinal Invite in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Hoosiers are looking to make their seventh-straight trip to the NCAA Championships in 2020.
