OPENING TIP
Indiana University is in its 120th season of competition in men's basketball and will host Northwestern in the first of a two-game homestand. The Hoosiers are coming off a 75-59 loss at Maryland on Saturday, while the Wildcats began a two-game road trip with a 77-68 loss at Minnesota on Sunday. According to ESPN's BPI, the Hoosiers are projected to have the 4th toughest strength of schedule in the country for the remainder of the season. IU is 42nd in KenPom and 46th in the NET.

THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his third season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He is 185-97 in eight-plus years as a head coach, which includes six years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. He is 46-34 at IU. Chris Collins is in his 7th year with the Wildcats and is 106-104.

Freshman Trayce Jackson-Davis has won or shared the Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors 3 times this season. He is averaging a team-best 14.8 points and 8.4 rebounds. He has had 5 double-doubles in 14 games this season and had 20 points and 6 boards against Arkansas. Among freshmen, he is 2nd in field goal percentage (64.3%), 4th in blocked shots (26) and free throws made (59) and 5th in free throws attempted (84) and 8th in rebounds (118). He is 10th in the Big Ten in scoring and 9th in rebounding, 3rd in field goal percentage and 6th in blocked shots. He is 5th in free throws attempted and 4th in free throws made.
Senior Devonte Green is 6th in the Big Ten in three-point field goals made (2.3) and posted 18 points against Maryland after he had 14 points against Arkansas. He is averaging 13.0 points per game and is 2nd on the team in steals with 15. Redshirt junior forward Joey Brunk is averaging 11.7 rebounds in his last 3 games. He had 9 points and 10 caroms against Maryland, 8 points and 11 boards against Arkansas and had 9 points and a career-high 14 rebounds against Notre Dame. Junior Justin Smith is averaging 11.8 points and was named IU's Male Scholar Athlete of the Month in January. He is in the Kelley School of Business studying Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation. Junior Aljami Durham is averaging 10.9 points.
