Nico Bolivar Q&A
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?
I usually spend it with either family or friends. I like to game with my friends, but I enjoy being outside more.
Who is one of your role models and why?
My father. He has the work ethic I strive to match, and he always pushes through the difficult times in life. It motivates me to never lose sight of my goals.
Do you have any prematch rituals and if so what are they?
While I get warmed up, I prefer to talk to teammates and laugh. I don't want to be too serious, that's not fun.
What is your favorite wrestling memory?
My junior year after winning in the blood rounds at state. I had a tough first round loss against the state champ, and I wrestled back for 5th. It showed to me my growth in my mindset.
Do you have any holiday traditions with your family?
Not really any special or interesting traditions. Just being together as a family during the holidays is enough.
Outside of wrestling what is something you are passionate about and why?
I really enjoy skateboarding, its both challenging and rewarding. Its also really fun to skateboard with friends.
Why did you choose to attend IU?
I chose IU because it felt like the perfect University for me, athletically and academically. I really admire Coach Escobedo and the vision he has for the team. Thinking about my future after wrestling, I saw Kelley School of Business as a great place to grow and succeed in my career choice.
