Hoosiers Ready For Action Across The Country This Weekend

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Track & Field will split up this weekend to compete at four different meets across the country. The jumps and pole vault squads will travel to Fayetteville, Ark. on Feb. 14 and 15 for the Tyson Invite while members of mid-distance/distance crew will compete in Ames, Iowa at the Iowa State Classic. Two Hoosiers will travel to Boston for the Dave Hemery Valentine Invite on Saturday afternoon. The rest of the Indiana team will remain in Bloomington, Ind. where they will host Hoosier Hills on Friday, Feb. 14.
Hoosier Hills Schedule of Events
Track Events— 60m hurdles, 60m, mile, 400m, 400m (fast section), 800m (fast section), 3000m, 600m, 200m, and 4x400-meter relay.
Field Events— weight throw, long jump, shot put, pole vault, high jump, and triple jump

There were lots to celebrate this weekend on the campus of Notre Dame as the Hoosiers competed in the highly-rated Meyo Invitational. Willie Morrison found his stride in the shot put where he reached a mark of 20.21m (66' 3.75") to finish as the top-collegiate in the field. The mark surpassed the program's indoor record while topping the Philippines national indoor all-time list.On the track, Ben Veatch and Teddy Browning went 1-2 in the Meyo Mile. Veatch clocked a time of 4:04.21 while Browning earned a personal best time of 4:04.95. Three other Hoosiers captured new PRs this weekend, Alexis Hill (21.25m; 69' 8.75") in the weight throw, and Janii Jenkins (55.18) and Lauren Thomas (56.30) in the 400m.

The Big Ten Conference announced their weekly indoor track & field athletes of the week on Wednesday afternoon. For the fifth time this season, Indiana Track & Field saw a Hoosier make the list as Willie Morrison picked up his first field athlete of the week honor of the season.
