
Schadler Runs Sub-4 and Moran Builds On Program Record To End Weekend For IUTF

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Track & Field concluded their stints at the Dave Heremy Valentine Invite, Iowa State, and Tyson Invite on Saturday afternoon. Redshirt Freshman Matthew Schadler ran a sub-4 mile in Boston while Leah Moran built on her program record in the triple jump at Arkansas to lead the Hoosiers on the final day of competition.
David Heremy Valentine Invite
In a highly competitive field, Schadler finished in third and ran a new lifetime best in the mile with a time of 3:58.45. Arjun Jha also competed in the mile where he saw a time of 4:03.04 to place 23rd.
Tyson Invite
Moran highlighted the action in Fayetteville, Ark. as she took flight to a mark of 13.22m (43' 4.5") in the women's triple jump invitational. Her mark is a lifetime best and adds to her school recorded performance from the Hoosier Open.
Hope Purcell cleared a height of 1.72m (5' 7.75") in the high jump and placed third in a very talented field.
In the men's high jump invitational Jyles Etienne snagged sixth and cleared a height of 2.11m (6' 11").
Iowa State Classic
Two personal bests fell in the mile out in Ames, Iowa on Saturday afternoon. Jenna Barker shed five seconds off her PR and clocked a time of 4:43.64 to place sixth overall. On the men's side, Dustin Horter raced to a time of 4:04.81 to set a new lifetime best.
Joely Pinkston led the Hoosiers in the 800m with a time of 2:08.50 and nabbed 11th overall. Mallory Mulzer ran a season best time of 2:09.92 to cross the finish line second in her heat.
Adam Wallace went 1:51.13 in the men's 800m race to capture 13th overall.
