IUTF Wraps Up Stint at Alex Wilson Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Track& Field wrapped the regular season on Saturday afternoon at the Alex Wilson Invite hosted by Notre Dame.
Jalen Royal received a top-5 finish in the men's 800m after notching a time of 1:51.16. Reece Proctor took fourth in his section by securing a time of 1:55.77. Elizabeth Stanhope and Kelly Mindak competed on the women's side of the 800m. Stanhope finished in 11th and clocked a time of 2:10.51 while Mindak clocked a 2:11.91 and nabbed 16th place.
Claire Hamilton ran her second mile of the season where she nabbed eighth with a time of 4:55.39.
The men's DMR squad consisting of Matthew Schadler, Shaton Vaughn, Cooper Williams and Kyle Mau combined for a season best time of 9:27.72 and finished in the third. The time is good for second all-time in program history. In the women's race, Joely Pinkston, Janii Jenkins, Mallory Mulzer, and Jenna Barker clocked a time of 11:14.72 to finish in sixth.
In the men's weight throw, Nick Lane won his fifth competition of the season after heaving a throw of 20.59m (67'6.75"). On the women's side, Princess Brinkley finished third in the women's weight throw with a mark of 20.27m (66' 6").
Khayla Dawson and Maddy Pollard went 1-2 in the women's shot put. Dawson put up a season best mark of 17.56m (57'7.50") while Pollard secured a distance of 16.29m (53'5.50"). Willie Morrison finished as the top-collegiate in the field in the men's shot put with a mark of 19.40m (63'7.75").
Up next the Hoosier will embark on the postseason journey beginning with the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships. Action is set for Feb. 28 & 29 in Geneva, Ohio at the SPIRE Institute.
