DORADO, Puerto Rico – Indiana Men's Golf junior Ethan Shepherd led the way for Indiana in the opening round of the Dorado Beach Collegiate, carding a 1-under 71 to end the first round tied for 26^th.

Chip-Ins
• Shepherd paced the Hoosiers, carding a 1-under-71. He collected five birdies on the day, including three on the back nine.

• Senior Brock Ochsenreiter was even on the day, highlighted by an eagle on hole No. 9. His best portion of the day came on the front nine, as he was 2-under at the turn before running into some trouble on No. 12.

• Sophomore Mitch Davis also collected an eagle on No. 9 and finished the day 2-over. He was also strongest on the front nine with a 2-under.

• Jack Sparrow and junior Tate Heintzelman ended the day tied for 71^st, each carding a pair of birdies. Heintzelman, who transferred from Florida Gulf Coast, is making his debut for Indiana.

• Senior Evan Gaesser, competing as an individual, is tied for 33^rd after shooting an even-72. Gaesser carded three birdies on the back nine.
