HEAD COACH SHONDA STANTON
"It's so awesome to see an athlete flat out perform, and Emily Goodin has been money all weekend long. She's one that always wants the game ball. We've got an ace, and that's exciting. Grayson Radcliffe is a competitor and she's one that's in that lion mode all the time. Gabbi Jenkins too, we're talking back-to-back weekends where she's clutched up. She's worked so hard in the offseason to broaden her offensive game, and it's paying off early in the season. What we're seeing this weekend is a little bit more of what we anticipated, being much cleaner on defense. We've got the kids that know the game and their settling in. I'm liking the steady climb and when we get to a point when this team starts to peak, we'll really see some good things happening."
UP NEXT
Indiana Softball will be off next weekend prior to their trip to the University of Arizona to compete in the Wildcat Invitational (March 6-8). The Hoosiers will play four teams including Boise State and host Arizona.
KEY MOMENTS
- For the second day in row, junior Grayson Radcliffe hit a home run in the first inning with senior Gabbi Jenkins already aboard with a single and a stolen base. Radcliffe's third homer of the weekend put the Hoosiers on top early 2-0.
- The Hoosiers broke things open in the top of the fourth inning as Gabbi Jenkins brought home Columbia Holeman with a single. Grayson Radcliffe followed her up with a double hammered into left field that brought home Jenkins and Taylor Lambert. IU extended the lead to 5-0.
- Emily Goodin was excellent down the stretch as she had been all weekend tossing all seven scoreless innings for the Hoosiers. Saint Jospeh's was only able to register two hits on her on the day.
