
Indiana Takes Down Cincinnati, 6-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University baseball team defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats, 6-2, on Wednesday afternoon at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Ind.
With the victory, the Hoosiers improve to 9-6 on the season overall, while Cincinnati falls to 7-8 on the year.
KEY MOMENTS
• Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, CF Grant Richardson put the Hoosiers ahead with a line-drive, three-run homer over the right-field fence. Richardson's fifth of the year put IU ahead, 3-1, after three full.
• Richardson came through again with two outs for the Hoosiers in the bottom of the fifth. After LF Drew Ashley drew a walk, Richardson plated him with a double to deep center field, pushing the IU advantage to 4-2.
• 1B Elijah Dunham made the Hoosier lead 6-2 in the bottom of the eighth, lining a two-run double to the right-center field gap.
NOTABLES
• Freshman RHP David Platt (1-0) made his first collegiate start, pitching a solid five innings to earn the win. Platt allowed two earned runs while striking out four.
• RHP Matt Litwicki tossed three scoreless innings of relief for IU, while RHP Connor Manous recorded the game's final three outs.
• Ashley (25 games), Richardson (18), 3B Cole Barr (15) and DH Jordan Fucci (14) all extended their reached-base streaks.

The Hoosiers will host the Memphis Tigers in a three-game, weekend series in Bloomington at Bart Kaufman Field. The set gets started on Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET. All three games will be streamed on BTN+.
