
Hoosiers Fall to San Diego, 6-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University baseball team fell in game two of Saturday's doubleheader with San Diego, 6-2, at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Ind.
With the setback, the Hoosiers move to 8-4 on the season overall, while San Diego improves t 10-4.
KEY MOMENTS
• Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh, the Hoosiers cut the San Diego lead in half on an RBI double to left field off the bat of 1B Elijah Dunham, scoring CF Grant Richardson from second base.
• DH Jordan Fucci hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth, but it wouldn't be enough as San Diego earned a split of the doubleheader with a 6-2 victory.
• Out of the bullpen, RHP Matt Litwicki (0-1) took the hard-luck loss for the Hoosiers, allowing two runs, one earned, in four innings of work. The sophomore struck out three and surrendered just three hits.
NOTABLES
• 1B Elijah Dunham extended his reached-base streak to 30-games, while C Drew Ashley pushed his reached-base mark to 22-straight. CF Grant Richardson also extended his on-base streak to 15-consecutive games.
• LHP Tommy Sommer pitched three scoreless innings in the start without surrendering a hit, striking out three and walking two.
