BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – IUHoosiers.com recently caught up with junior swimmer Josie Grote.
Where are you at right now?
Home – Madison, Ind.
What is your major?
Exercise Science … then headed to Physician's Assistant School
How are you interacting with your teammates?
In any way I can: Snapchat, Instagram, texting, FaceTime and Zoom.
How has the adjustment gone to online classes?
It has been hard but the process has taught me a lot about self-motivation and how to schedule my time.
What gives you encouragement and motivation during this time?
I am so fortunate to be able to attend IU and am incredibly grateful for the resources that IU has given us during this hard time. I find motivation in thinking about all the people that are working to keep our country going during this hard time.
What is something you and your family are doing to pass the time?
We have been taking walks when the weather allows, cooking, cleaning, working on art projects, watching shows together, making fires, and calling friends.
What shows are you catching up on?
I have been watching "One Tree Hill" (11/10 recommend) and "All American".
What are you most looking forward to when you get back to practice/competition?
I am excited to get back in the pool with my friends!
What advice do you give to your fellow Hoosiers during this time?
My advice would be to stay strong and find something to look forward to each day – making tacos for lunch or learning every word to a song.
