Illini B1G Multi Meet Up Next for Indiana Track & Field

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Hope Purcell will represent Indiana Track & Field in the pentathlon at the Illini B1G Multi Meet on Saturday Jan. 30. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET at the University of Illinois Armory in Champaign, Ill.
Pentathlon Schedule of Events
The Hoosiers returned to the Gladstein Fieldhouse this past weekend for the Gladstein Invite. On home turf, Indiana has 14 win their respective events on Saturday afternoon. Mahogany Jenkins and JaiQuan Earls earned their first victories in the cream & crimson. Jenkins soared a distance of 12.03m (39' 5.75") in the triple jump while Earls jumped a mark of 13.85m (45' 5.25") to complete the Indiana sweep in the event.
Williams Honored by the Big Ten
Cooper Williams was tabbed with Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week honors after winning the 800m at the Gladstein Invite in a time of 1:48.09. His time ranks No. 1 in the Big Ten and is also the third best time in the NCAA so far this season.
First USTFCCCA Rankings Unveiled
The first U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) revealed the first week of national and regional rankings. The Indiana men checked in at No.17 during week the first rankings of the season.
In the regional rankings, both the Hoosier men and women claimed the No. 2 spot in the Great Lakes region.
NCAA Marks
Through one weekend of competition, 13 Hoosiers have top-25 marks in the NCAA.
