MADISON, Wis.– The Indiana men's tennis team opened the spring 2021 season by traveling to Wisconsin for the Badger Invitational.

After starting the event with a couple of doubles wins on Thursday night against Minnesota, the Hoosiers played singles against Minnesota and doubles against Wisconsin on Friday. Indiana posted a record of 5-3 in singles and 3-1 in doubles in those matches.
Senior William Piekarsky won two of his three singles matches on the weekend as did freshman Michael Andre and sophomore Luka Vukovic. Freshmen Ilya Tiraspolsky and Michael Andre went 3-0 on the weekend in doubles matches. Freshman Jagger Saylor and junior Vikash Singh combined to win two of their three doubles matches.
The Hoosiers closed the invitational on Sunday with singles matches against Nebraska and went 5-2 with wins from Andrew Redding, Vikash Singh, Luka Vukovic, Michael Andre and Patrick Fletchall.
IU Head Coach Jeremy Wurtzman
"The goal was to get as many matches as possible. It was great to get out there and compete in the IU jersey as a team. We got better every day and we can now use what we saw and go back and work on some things. We have good depth on this team and good team chemistry and it's important for us to focus on being a team and not as individuals."
