IUVB Set For Midweek Match At No. 9 Nebraska

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Volleyball (8-10, 2-4 Big Ten) is set for a midweek matchup on the road against No. 9 Nebraska (13-3, 6-0 Big Ten). The match is slated for Wednesday, October 13 at 9 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPNU.

The Opening Serve
• The Hoosiers spent this past weekend on the East Coast at Rutgers and Maryland. Indiana picked up the victory, 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-14, 25-23), against the Scarlet Knights before falling to the Terrapins, 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 24-26) the next night.
• Freshman setter Camryn Haworth is having a solid start to her first campaign with Indiana in which she is No. 4 in the Big Ten in aces with a total 27. Haworth tallied five this weekend, three against Rutgers and two at Maryland.
• Junior defensive specialist Paula Cerame continues to rank No. 5 in digs among the Big Ten after tallying a team-leading 288 so far this season.
• Junior middle blocker Kaley Rammelsberg is leading the Hoosier attack, recording 129 kills and a percentage of .385 so far in 2021. Her percentage is good enough for seventh in the conference.
• As a team, Indiana ranks No. 8 in digs and No. 9 in blocks amongst the Big Ten. The Hoosiers are averaging 14.25 digs per set and 2.39 blocks per set.

• The Huskers hold a 19-1 advantage in the all-time series between Indiana and Nebraska. The Hoosiers only win came in 1978 when the two teams met for the very first time.

• NEBRASKA: John Cook sits at the helm of the Huskers program and is in his 21st season. He has coached them to a 13-3 overall record in 2021 and has gotten Nebraska out to a perfect 6-0 start in Big Ten play. They currently rank No. 9 in the nation and senior middle blocker Kayla Caffey leads the attack with 110 kills and a hitting percentage of .382. Her percentage ranks No. 8 in the Big Ten. Nicklin Hames does most of the setting for the Huskers and has recorded 484 assists which is the sixth best in the conference. Nebraska has two in the top-10 of the Big Ten in aces, sophomore defensive specialist Keonilei Akana who has 21 and senior outside hitter Lexi Sun who has 13. Senior middle blocker Callie Schwarzenbach leads the defense with 56 blocks and currently ranks No. 7 in blocking among the conference. As a team, Nebraska is allowing their opponents to hit just .150 while they are hitting .236. They are No. 4 in Assists with 660 and No. 5 in kills with 719.
Last Time Out
• The Hoosiers got back in the win column this past Friday at Rutgers. Indiana was able to get the 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-14, 25-23) victory with senior outside hitter Breana Edwards leading the way with a season-high 19 kills. Sophomore middle blocker Savannah Kjolhede led the squad in blocks with six which was also a season high. Senior outside hitter Kari Zumach secured the game-winning point with a solo block. Zumach tallied a total of three kills and two blocks. Freshman setter Camryn Haworth picked up another 34 assists and served up three aces.
• Returning to the court the very next night, Indiana couldn't keep with the Maryland attack as they fell 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 24-26). Freshman outside hitter Mady Saris had a team-leading seven kills while Kjolhede and sophomore outside hitter Morgan Geddes put up a team-high two blocks each. Haworth tacked on another two aces to the weekend.

• Senior outside hitter Breana Edwards recorded the 1000th kill of her career in the match at Georgia Tech on Sept. 10. Edwards leads the Hoosiers in kills with 214 so far this season.
• Junior middle blocker Kaley Rammelsberg owns the team's best hitting percentage at .385 with 129 kills. She is also responsible for the team's second-highest block count with 54.
• Sophomore middle blocker Savannah Kjolhede leads the team in blocks with 60. She has recorded at least one block in the last four games that they have played. The Colleyville, Texas native has recorded 103 kills.
• Freshman setter Camryn Haworth has seen an impressive first campaign with the Hoosiers and leads the team in aces with 27 so far this season. She is on a three-game streak of recording at least an ace. Haworth does most of the setting for Indiana in which she has tallied 260 assists in 2021.
• As a team, the Hoosiers are hitting .193 compared to their opponents .188. They are averaging 12.2 kills per set.
