Davis Earns Second-Straight Top-20 Finish
VERO BEACH, Fla. – The Indiana Hoosiers men's golf team finished the penultimate tournament of the fall slate in ninth (850; -14) after 54 holes at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational hosted by Michigan State.

• Senior Mitch Davis was dialed in for the third and final round of the tournament and led the Hoosiers with a 5-under 67. He knocked in five birdie attempts and an eagle on No. 14. He finished t-12th at 209 (70-72-67; -7), his eighth top-20 finish of his collegiate career. Davis finished tied for second among Big Ten Conference competitors in the tournament.
• The Hoosiers have played at least one round in the 60s in 11 of 15 rounds played this season.
• Sophomore Drew Salyers played even par in the third round to tie for 28th after shooting a 213 (74-67-72; -3) for the tournament. His third round saw three birdies.
• Sophomore Clay Merchent shot a 1-under 71 during the third round to finish the weekend tied for 39th at 215 (70-74-71; -1). He tallied birdies on five holes during the final round, including four of his final nine holes played.
• Junior Noah Gillard finished the tournament in a tie for 51st place after shooting a 218 (72-74-72; +2). His final round of 72 consisted of four birdies in total including two in a three-hole stretch on the front nine.
• Fifth-year senior Ethan Shepherd tied for 62nd with a three-round score of 220 (71-72-77; +4). His lone birdie during Monday's action came on the seventh green.
