
Indiana Finishes Fall Slate in Wilmington

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The men's golf team will conclude the fall season at The Williams Cup presented by STITCH Golf®. The 10-team tournament will be played from Oct. 25-26 at the Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C. and will be hosted by the North Carolina Tar Heels.
The tournament honors former UNC men's basketball coach Roy Williams and his wife, Wanda. The couple donated more than $5.8 million to Carolina in the 18 years he was head coach of the Tar Heels.

• Sophomore Drew Salyers has twice been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week (Sept. 8 and Sept. 22) after winning his first tournament as a member of the Cream and Crimson at the Hoosier Collegiate and earned a second-straight top-5 finish at the Fighting Illini Invitational.
• The Hoosiers check in at No. 30 in the latest GolfWeek Collegiate Rankings.
PREVIOUSLY THIS SEASON
• Indiana opened the 2021-22 season with a third-place finish (860; +6) as hosts of the 2021 Hoosier Collegiate Invitational at The Pfau Course in Bloomington. Sophomore Drew Salyers collected Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors after winning the individual tournament with a score of 208 (68-72-68; -5) over three rounds.
• The Hoosiers played to a sixth-place finish (856; +16) against a loaded field in the Fighting Illini Invitational and topped six ranked programs. Salyers led the Hoosiers for the second time in as many tournaments to open the season and finished t-fifth after shooting a 209 (68-72-69; -1).
• IU placed 10th overall (856; +4) at the Windon Memorial Classic with both Noah Gillard and Clay Merchent (211; -2) pacing the Hoosiers with t-16th individual finishes.
• Indiana earned the program's first stroke-play tournament victory since 2014 by winning the Purdue Fall Invitational by one stroke over the host Boilermakers. Mitch Davis paced the Hoosiers with a 3-under 213 to tie for third overall.
• In the penultimate tournament of the fall season, IU claimed ninth (850; -14) at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational in Vero Beach, Fla. Davis led the Hoosiers after shooting a 209 (-7) to tie for 12th overall.
