King, Parratto, Moren, Cronin To Appear At Free “Pioneering Women In Athletics” Speaker Series Event Wednesday

Bloomington, Ind. – Four IU Athletics female pioneers will share their stories at a free, public event Wednesday, November 3, on the IU campus.
Olympic medalists Lilly King and Jessica Parratto, IU Women's Basketball Coach Teri Moren, and Media School graduate and current ESPN reporter Courtney Cronin will participate in the Pioneering Women in Athletics speaker series event at the Henke Hall of Champions in Memorial Stadium from 6-7 p.m. on November 3. Those interested in attending are invited to Register Here for free to attend the one-hour event, which will be moderated by IU Senior Associate Athletic Director Jeremy Gray.
The Pioneering Women in Athletics speaker series event is part of the College Football Playoff, which will be played in Indianapolis in January. As part of the College Football Playoff activities, Speaker Series events are taking place on the IU, Purdue, Butler and Notre Dame campuses this fall. Each is designed to bring national conversations about college athletics on campuses in the state of Indiana.
Here's a closer look at the accomplishments of IU's four speakers:
Courtney Cronin
Courtney Cronin is a national award-winning journalist who joined ESPN in August 2017 as the Minnesota Vikings reporter for NFL Nation. She delivers news, analysis and insight about the Vikings on ESPN.com and makes regular appearances on ESPN's radio and television platforms, including SportsCenter and NFL Live. Prior to ESPN, Cronin worked as a multimedia sports reporter for the San Jose Mercury News, where she covered the Warriors, Raiders, 49ers, Giants, A's and Sharks. Cronin graduated with degrees in journalism and Spanish from Indiana University.
Lilly King
In addition to being one of the most accomplished breaststrokers in United States history, Lilly King is one of the greatest student-athletes to represent Indiana University in any sport, during any era. She captured eight NCAA individual championships at IU from 2016-19, and in doing so became the first woman to ever win the NCAA 100 and 200 breaststroke titles four straight years. That collegiate success has been mirrored by her accomplishments on the international stage. An 11-time world champion, King has won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze while representing Team USA in the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games.
Teri Moren
Now in her eighth year as IU's head women's basketball coach, Teri has elevated the program to unprecedented heights in the Big Ten and nationally. Last season, she guided the program to its first-ever NCAA Elite Eight appearance, won a school-record 16 Big Ten games and was ranked as high as No. 10 nationally. Her IU teams have made six postseason appearances, including three trips to the NCAA Tournament, and won the WNIT Championship in 2018. Each of her last six IU teams have won at least 20 games, eclipsing the four 20-win seasons that the IU program had in the 41 seasons before Teri's arrival in 2014.
Jessica Parratto
One of the greatest divers to ever come out of IU, Jessica Parratto is a two-time Olympian, a 10-time All-American, a five-time Big Ten champion, and a former NCAA champion. At the recently completed Olympic Games in Tokyo, Jessica teamed with Delaney Schnell to win a silver medal in the 10-meter synchronized diving competition. She also represented Team USA at the 2016 games in Rio, where he placed 10th in platform diving and seventh in the 10-meter synchronized event. During her IU career from 2015-19 she won the NCAA title in platform diving in 2015, was a four-time first-team All-Big Ten choice and won the Big Ten platform title four times.
