• Senior linebacker Micah McFadden totaled eight tackles, six solo, with a half-TFL and one PBU. He has a tackle for loss in 15 of the last 16 games. The start marked the 30th of his career.
• Redshirt senior husky Bryant Fitzgerald charted a career-high eight tackles, including a career-best seven solos. He also made a team-high 1.5 tackles for loss to give him 9.5 for his career.
• Fifth-year senior safety Raheem Layne tied for the team lead with eight tackles (5 solo). The Deland, Fla., native has recorded 25 total tackles over the last three weeks for the Hoosier defense.
• Senior linebacker Cam Jones returned to game action and recorded a career-high-tying eight tackles (6 solo).
• Before exiting the game with an injury in the second quarter, senior safety Devon Matthews matched a career-high (3rd time) with a pair of pass breakups. He recorded four tackles to push his career total to 152.
• Senior cornerback Reese Taylor made five solo tackles and added one pass breakup.
• Freshman punter James Evans totaled 233 yards on five punts (46.6 yards per punt) with a long of 51 yards. The Auckland, New Zealand, native has contributed 12 50-yard punts in his debut season and has had at least one covering half the field in nine of 11 games this season.
• Indiana's opening scoring drive covered 92 yards, the team's longest scoring drive of the season.
• True freshman quarterback Donaven McCulley closed out the drive with an 11-yard touchdown run, his first career rush TD. He finished the game with a team-best 72 yards rushing on 16 carries.
• True freshman wide receiver Malachi Holt-Bennett cashed in his first career reception for a 29-yard touchdown. The catch came on a fade ball from redshirt sophomore quarterback Grant Gremel, his first career touchdown toss.
• Senior cornerback Jaylin Williams made the 20th start of his career. He had one PBU and a TFL, the first of his fourth season.
• Graduate student center Dylan Powell made the 20th start of his career.
• Today marked the first meeting between the two teams in Bloomington since Nov. 2, 2013, and the first meeting in the series since a 38-31 Minnesota victory in Minneapolis on Oct. 26, 2018.
• The program honored 35 seniors prior to this afternoon's game.
• Indiana won the coin toss and chose to defer for the fourth time this season.
• The team voted wide receiver Ty Fryfogle, tight end Peyton Hendershot, linebacker Cam Jones, husky Marcelino McCrary-Ball, linebacker Micah McFadden, and quarterback Michael Penix Jr. season captains.
