Indiana Ends Calendar Season with MatMen Open

MatMen Open:

The Hoosiers will travel 17 wrestlers to the competition. Three of them will wrestle unattached.
Brackets will be released ahead of the competition with individuals seeded in their respective weight classes.
Roughly 25 schools will send squads to the competition including Big Ten opposition Iowa, Illinois, Rutgers, Purdue and Wisconsin.
Other potential opponents include ranked teams Pittsburgh and Princeton.
Derek Gilcher (157) and Jonathan Kervin (157) will enter the starting lineup. Garrett Hoffman joins Nick Willham in the 197-lb. class.
Andrew Irick (285) and Isiah Levitz (165) also join the travel squad.

Last Time Out: Cleveland State Open:

Jacob Moran (125), Derek Gilcher (157), D.J. Washington (184) and Nick Willham (197) gave IU four individual champions at the Open.
D.J. Washington pinned his first three opponents before grinding out a hard-fought win in the final.
Jacob Bullock (285) finished 2^nd and Cayden Rooks (141) came all the way through the consolation bracket to take 5^th on the afternoon.

Right in the Rankings:

Five IU wrestlers have featured in either InterMat or FloWrestling rankings this season.
Four of them are ranked by both outlets.
D.J. Washington (184) claims IU's highest rankings at No. 9 in InterMat's Top-33.
