Indiana Tied for Fourth Following Second Round of Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. – Indiana Men's Golf continued play in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate at the Magnolia Grove Crossing Golf Course on Monday, moving up to a tie for fourth place following the event's second round. All five Hoosiers competing for the team currently sit in the top 25, led by freshman Clay Merchent who ended the day tied for 10th.

• Freshman Clay Merchent carded a 3-under-par 69 on Monday, moving into a tie for 10th place. He had a pair of birdies on both the front and back nine, including on the 569-yard No. 16.
• Senior Ethan Shepherd and junior Mitch Davis both ended the day tied for 13th. Shepherd improved by three strokes from yesterday, carding a 69. He started the day off by collecting four birdies on the front nine. Davis shot an even-72 with a trio of birdies.
• Freshman Drew Salyers is currently tied for 20th after a putting up a 72 on Monday. After a 37 on the front nine, he cut two strokes off of that on the back nine.
• Junior Harry Reynolds was the third Hoosier to shoot an even-72. He had three birdies, including two on the back nine.
• As a team, the Hoosiers are tied for the second-most birdies in the field with 35. Shepherd is responsible for eight of them.
• Brock Ochsenreiter, who is competing as an individual, is currently tied for 47th after shooting a 74 for the second straight day.
