
A Trio of Second Half Tallies Lead Indiana Over Ohio State

Bezerra Nets Second Brace
WESTFIELD, Ind. – No. 7 Indiana (2-0-0) scored three goals in the final 45 minutes to defeat the Ohio State Buckeyes (0-1-0), 3-0, at Grand Park on Tuesday afternoon.
KEY MOMENTS
• In the opening stages of the match, senior forward Thomas Warr took a looping cross from the right side and redirected a header towards frame. The ball sailed just north of the crossbar.
• In the 13th minute, redshirt sophomore forward Ryan Wittenbrink let loose a strike from the left wing. The shot was saved by the Ohio State keeper.
• Redshirt senior defender Spencer Glass connected on his second assist in as many games early in the second frame. He took a corner and swung the ball in to a cutting Daniel Munie. The redshirt sophomore defender snuck behind the defense and hip-checked the ball into the back of the net.
• Sophomore striker Victor Bezerra capped a great combo run from Glass and sophomore forward Maouloune Goumballe by drawing a foul inside the box. Bezerra was reward with a penalty kick and easily converted from the spot for his third goal of the season.
NOTABLES
• Sophomore keeper Roman Celentano has secured back-to-back shutouts to open the 2020-21 season. This marks the first time since 2017 the Hoosier defense has pitched back-to-back shutouts.
• Celentano has secured 10 shutouts in his 16 career starts. He has yielded one or fewer goals in 15 starts.
• The Hoosier attack has outscored the two conference opponents by six goals this season, the largest point differential through opening two matches since 1991. IU was plus-eight through two matches that season.
• Bezerra has scored four tallies in two games this season and has netted seven total goals in the last four games dating back to the fall of 2019. He is currently the program's active leader in goals with 12.
• The goal scored by Munie was the second of his career. For Glass, he has registered assists in back-to-back matches and has a team-best 18 helpers in his career.
• In the program's last 38 Big Ten Conference regular-season matches, Indiana holds a record of 28-1-9.
• Against the Buckeyes, the Hoosiers are 46-5-4 all-time, 11-1-1 in the last 13 matches, and 6-0-1 since 2015.
• Indiana improves to 4-0-3 all-time at Grand Park and 2-0-0 in regular season matches at the venue.
• Redshirt forward Ryan Wittenbrink made his first career start in the match. The Libertyville, Ill., native has appeared in five career games for the Cream and Crimson.
